Good Morning Korean Peninsula

N. Korea pulls the trigger.

Crazy people with atomic bombs!!!

So, what now?

It is so good to see the sun rise following such a dreary weekend. But wait... that is not the sun rising over the Korean Peninsula.

It appears to be a nuclear bomb test.

North Korea?

Where is North Korea? Why should we worry? What do we really know about them? Maybe this is just somebody elses problem?

Is this part of the "War on Terror"? Probably not... (I don't remember hearing anything about their oil reserves).

Perhaps they are just trying to protect their national interests just like the rest of the members of the Nuclear Weapon Capable Club of Nations.

Perhaps we can sit down and talk with them. I am sure they are reasonable people.

Obviously, it was a little bomb and word on the street is that they do not have enough weapons grade nuclear material to make more than a dozen or so bombs.

Just a dozen or so little nuclear bombs. Probably no big deal.

Mmmmm...

What if they decide to sell them to friends?

Osama and his Al Qaeda associates?

Iran?

Somebody else with a big grudge?

What now?

Any way... good morning.

i wonder if rove has kim jong ill in his rolodex?

No but really, how could this help the rupuds? afterall the current administrations foreign policy (ie invading iraq) has done nothing but imbolden crack pots like kim jong ill, because he knows, (and more importantly we know)the U.S resources and military assests are way too diverted to challenge N. Korea militarily...

It seems are we are left to do is direct negotiations, hope the chinese are on our side...

& if he does have a bomb, then we're all screwed...

Come on! Lets not get all partisan here. Lots of presidents have had to deal with a very dangerous situation in N. Korea for over the past 50 years. It is not about the current administration or US policy. It is all about Kim and the bomb. Do you really think he intends to use the bomb in a fair face to face war. No way. This is about putting dangerous WMDs in the hands of crazy people. Oh yeah, think again about US military assets. Believe me, we got em in spades but who wants to wants to live with the consequences of using them?

Apparently we got our answer. It is no hoax. But, not to worry. Kim is sorry. He didn't know the gun was loaded. I feel so much better now.
