Saxman takes on the Taxman

I have been out of commission for a week. The worst flu I have ever had. Today I am going to profile the bills sponsored by Delegate Chris Saxman of Staunton. Del. Saxman is a member of the Cost Cutting Caucus and the only local politician to actively blog. His blog, VACostCutting, seeks to find ways to cut costs of government services. I give him kudos for his willingness to take on a typically unpopular issue and to make such an effort to communicate to and with the blogging community. Even if Staunton does become the next Charlottesville, Del. Saxman may be well served by his openness to other's ideas.

Bills where Del. Saxman is listed as the Chief Sponsor.

Selected Bills where Del. Saxman is listed as a Co-Sponsor.

These are the bills of a mature legislator. Nuts and bolts legislation meant to actually accomplish something. I don't always agree with Del. Saxman, but I do respect him.

anytime a valley delegate doesn't sponsor silly pieces of legislation (gay marriage, and so forth) it is a good thing. For the most part, Saxman's bills seem to be fairly resonable. But as far as being "cost cutter" bills, not too sure?
